Redesign of the luxury lifestyle and culture magazine published by The Spectator.  Read more

— After 3 and a half years and 14 issues, former Vanity Fair contributor, Toby Young became the new editor of LIFE. He had a new editorial vision for the magazine – to give it a more distinctive structure, regular columns a stronger identity and to refresh the look. Having worked on the magazine since issue 2 we were well placed to deliver a completely new typographic palette and implement changes in the editorial hierarchy, flat-planning and also commission new illustrations and photography. The new look followed the brief for LIFE – to feel closer to the weekly Spectator yet retain a strong, more luxurious and lifestyle friendly tone. We introduced a highly contemporary new display font, a new sans serif and a more readable, sophisticated text font. Issues 15 and 16 of the quarterly supplement have proved hugely popular with new and regular readers and attracted attention from the national media.
